Kadrey book authors ask Judge Chhabria for concurrent briefing of class certification on torrenting claim and summary judgment on infringement

The Kadrey book authors filed a motion asking Judge Chhabria for concurrent briefing of (i) class certification and (ii) summary judgment on infringement, both related to the remaining part of the case involving Meta’s alleged torrenting, including uploading or sharing, of copyrighted works.

The Kadrey plaintiffs cite the concurrent briefing in Bartz v. Anthropic in support of their motion.

Certification of a class of plaintiffs would increase the potential liability and statutory damages Meta are exposed to.
