At 10 am PT, Judge Eumi Lee holds a hearing in Concord Music v. Anthropic I on summary judgment and Daubert motions. Expect a long hearing for the complex set of issues. This is the first district judge to hold a hearing on summary judgment motions regarding fair use in AI training since Bartz and Kadrey, remarkably more than a year and a half ago.
I see no indication on the Judge’s webpage that there will be remote access (versus in-person only, which appears to the normal procedure under the Judge’s standing orders). But, if there is remote access, you can find the Zoom link on the Judge’s webpage.
