The Wall Street Journal has an exclusive report on Anthropic’s much anticipated IPO’s S-1 prospectus. It reflects massive compute spending by the company.
The section on risks related to investing in Anthropic — spanning 1/3 of the document — includes discussion of rogue AI and “harm that could result from a catastrophic AI-related incident” that potentially no insurance company would cover. Plus, “The company warned that resistance to data centers has “become more organized and coordinated across jurisdictions.”
Unfortunately, the WSJ article doesn’t discuss the copyright liability risks — which surely must be mentioned in the S-1.
