Add NVIDIA and Apple to the list of defendants in the omnibus copyright lawsuit filed by book author John Carreyrou and other authors who opted out of the Bartz v. Anthropic settlement.
The defendants are:
- Anthropic
- OpenAI (but already severed by prior order of Judge Thompson before her recusal)
- Meta
- xAI (Elon Musk’s company)
- Perplexity AI
- Apple
- NVIDIA
All defendants have now filed or joined in a motion to sever.
The hearing will be held on May 12, 2026, 10 AM before Judge Pitts in San Jose.
