Fresh off its successful motion for leave to seek interlocutory appeal of Judge Bibas’s denial of fair use, ROSS Intelligence hired even more lawyers to prepare the potential appeal.
The lawyers are from Pillsbury: “Kayvan Ghaffari in San Francisco, who represented ROSS as lead counsel in the case at a prior firm, Silicon Valley partner Anne Voigts, who leads Pillsbury’s global Appellate practice, and Silicon Valley Intellectual Property partner Ranjini Acharya.”
They are joining ROSS’s trial attorney as well as the White & Case attorneys ROSS recently hired to write the motion to Judge Bibas asking him to certify the issues of fair use and copyrightability for an interlocutory appeal. The White & Case lawyers added:
- Mark S. Davies
- Anna B. Naydonov
- Yar R. Chaikovsky
- Kufere Laing
- Taylor Moore-Willis
- Rosie Norwood-Kelly
The trial attorneys includes::
- David E. Moore, Bindu A. Palapura, POTTER ANDERSON & CORROON LLP
- Warrington Parker, Joachim B. Steinberg, Jacob Canter, Christopher J. Banks, Margaux Poueymirou, Anna Z. Saber, Mark A. Klapow, Lisa Kimmel, Crinesha B. Berry, Emily T. Kuwahara, Keith J. Harrison, Ryan Seewald, Jordan Ludwig, CROWELL & MORING LLP
For a company that is not operating any longer due to the lawsuit, the company is sticking by its word: “We will continue to fight the good fight….The company will continue as a going concern so that the facts at the heart of this lawsuit are brought to light and so that Westlaw’s tactics — using litigation as a weapon and stifling competition — do not succeed.”
