Book authors who opted out of Bartz and Anthropic select mediation to fulfill ADR local rule requirement

The book authors who opted out of the Bartz v. Anthropic settlement who are now a part of the Cambronne v. Anthropic cluster of cases, and Anthropic have chosen mediation as the for ADR they will partake in, requested deadline of June 14, 2027.

There’s been only one case settled after a mediation: Vacker v. Eleven Labs in Delaware. It’s a bit surprising the number is so low.

I’d have to go back and check some of the other cases, but “mediation” itself might be an option that parties are not pursuing over “prefer to discuss ADR selection with the Assigned Judge at the case management conference” or “private ADR.”
