Elsevier and other book publishers have filed today a copyright suit against Mark Zuckerberg as well as Meta.
The suit was filed in the Southern District of New York.
The publishers allege copyright infringement in torrenting of datasets from shadow libraries, web scraping, training AI models, along with contributory infringement and removal of CMI in violation of the DMCA 1202(b).
