42 State Attorney Generals wrote a warning letter to Anthropic, Apple, Chai AI, Character Technologies, Google, Luka, Meta, Microsoft, Nomi AI, OpenAI, Perplexity AI, Replika, and xAI.
They ask for a commitment from the companies to implement a long list of additional safeguards:
“Please confirm to us your commitment to doing so on or before January 16, 2026.”
