OpenAI files updated brief to appeal Magistrate Judge’s decision re: 20M ChatGPT chats

OpenAI has filed an updated brief in support of its Rule 72(a) objection of Magistrate Judge Wang’s order requiring it to produce to plaintiffs 20 million chat logs for users of ChatGPT.

This objection is being handled by OpenAI’s longstanding lawyers from Latham, MoFo, and Keker — not Lisa Blatt and the newly hired law firm of Williams & Connolly, who are handling the Rule 72(a) objection to the other controversial ruling involving waiver of attorney-client privilege.
