Here’s the latest map of all U.S. copyright lawsuits against AI companies.
The new total is 59 copyright lawsuits.
We added 2 new cases filed in the Northern District of California this week:
- Entrepreneur Media v. Meta Platforms
- Alexander v. Salesforce (similar to Tanzer v. Saleforce (request to declare related); Alexander v. Apple).
Both lawsuits adopt the Shadow Library Strategy as a theory for infringement, attempting to capitalize on Judge Alsup’s stern view of using a shadow library in Bartz v. Anthropic.
Do you think we will hit 65 copyright lawsuits by the end of 2025?
