Record Street Music, the label behind Jeremy Renner’s album Love and Titanium, received a copyright registration for the album cover that was partly AI-generated.
Basis for the claim of a work of authorship: “2-D artwork, The author?s contributions to the image consist of the following: author modified the abstracted bird at the top center of the image; author removed and replaced the text in the image with new text; author created an entirely new bottom portion of the outer roundel; author refined and enhanced the heart in the middle of the image; and author reduced and refined computer generated anomalies throughout the image.”
Excluded from copyright: “2-D artwork, The color palate throughout the image, the upper portion of the outer roundel and the colorful fire detail of inner roundel were generated by artificial intelligence.”
