Scarlett Johansson condemns deepfake video of her, other Jewish celebrities condemning Ye website swastika T-shirt

Scarlett Johansson is condemning the use of an AI deepfake video, which depicts her and other Jewish celebrities literally wearing a T shirt giving the middle finger to Kanye (now Ye), who recently called himself a Nazi after being reinstated by Elon Musk on X. Ye reportedly was selling T-shirts with swastikas on them on his website.

“I am a Jewish woman who has no tolerance for antisemitism or hate speech of any kind. But I also firmly believe that the potential for hate speech multiplied by AI is a far greater threat than any one person who takes accountability for it. We must call out the misuse of AI, no matter its messaging, or we risk losing a hold on reality.”

Johansson had a prior incident in which OpenAI and Sam Altman tried to hire her as voice for its AI (apparently due to Altman’s fascination with the movie Her, in which Johansson played the role of an AI character named Samantha). Johannson refused, but OpenAI’s voice agent sounded similar to Johansson. She swiftly condemned the similarity.
