Antitrust has become a hot area of law under the Biden Administration. The New York Times reports that Microsoft, OpenAI, and NVIDIA are under investigation.
Interestingly, the Department of Justice and Federal Trade Commission are working out an arrangement by which DOJ investigates Microsoft and OpenAI, while the FTC investigates NVIDIA.
“After a similar deal in 2019, the government investigated Google, Apple, Amazon and Meta and has since sued each of them on claims that they violated antimonopoly laws,” according to the NYT.
