In a deal described as “landmark,” OpenAI struck a 5-year licensing deal with News Corp. (which owns the Wall St. Journal, the New York Post, Barron’s, The Sun, and The Times of London) to use their content, “including archives, to answer queries and trains its technology,” according to the Wall Street Journal.
News Corp. CEO Robert Thomson stated, “This landmark accord is not an end, but the beginning of a beautiful friendship in which we are jointly committed to creating and delivering insight and integrity instantaneously.”
