Cable News Network (CNN) has joined the copyright litigation against AI companies. CNN filed a copyright suit against Perplexity AI in the Southern District of New York.

The filing of parallel litigation raising similar claims of different plaintiffs is one of the signal features of the 114 copyright lawsuits against AI companies. We can easily be over 200 cases by next year if the parallel litigation continues and is adopted by even more law firms than the several plaintiffs’ law firms driving the current litigation.
