The cases against AI companies continue to grow. Two new cases were added to the Map of Copyright Suits:
- David Greene v. Google, a case involving state law claims that Google removed to federal court on the ground of copyright preemption. Case has been assigned to Judge Breyer.
- Businessing v. Runway AI is a related case to Ace Cam v. Runway AI. Both involve alleged DMCA anti-circumvention of technological protection measures on YouTube videos later used to train Runway’s AI models. Both cases are before Judge Kaplan.
Some recent cases have now been assigned judges:
- Judge Blumenfeld Jr. was assigned Chmura v. Snap.
- Judge Gee was assigned Gardner v. Runway AI.
- Judge Pitts was reassigned Carreyrou v. Anthropic.
