Facing business-ending liability, Anthropic adds another attorney to defense team

Anthropic is in a legal fight for its very existence. In a code red moment, Anthropic hired 2 new law firms and 13 new trial attorneys to defend the company in 2 copyright lawsuits.

The more dire situation is the class action of book authors filed by Bartz. After Judge Alsup certified a class of copyrighted books that could total over 1 million, Anthropic immediately hired prominent trial attorney Daralyn Durie and 6 other attorneys from MoFo, adding to the 3 law firms that already represent Anthropic in that lawsuit.

One of those law firms is Arnold & Porter, which today has added another tech litigator from their LA office, Ryan M. Nishimito, to help defend Anthropic at trial.
