Udio and Suno, the AI music generators, each just got hit with another copyright suit. Anthony Justice, an independent country musician, and his label 5th Wheel Records sued Udio in the Southern District of New York and Suno in Boston.
The Complaint cites the U.S. Copyright Office Pre-Publication Report in support of the argument that Udio and Suno did not engage in fair use.
This raises the total copyright suits filed against AI companies in the United States to 44.
Meanwhile, Udio and Suno are reportedly in negotiations to settle the lawsuits filed by Universal Music Group and other major labels.
