The Nurture Originals, Foster Art, and Keep Entertainment Safe Act of 2024, known as the NO FAKES Act, was introduced in Congress. The bill is intended “to protect the voice and visual likenesses of creators and individuals from the proliferation of digital replicas created without their consent.”
Nature of the Right – The bill provides individuals with a new federal property right to
authorize the use of their voice or visual likeness (a digital replication right). The
right is not assignable during the individual’s lifetime but is licensable and does not
expire upon the death of the individ
The bill was introduced by U.S. Senators Chris Coons (D-Del.), Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.), Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.), and Thom Tillis (R-N.C.).
