At the OpenAI developer’s day, probably the biggest announcement is that you can custom build your own GPT, or chatbot, using ChatGPT Plus or Enterprise.
So what does that mean?
Well, basically, you chat to create your own personalized GPT here: https://chat.openai.com/gpts/editor
A custom GPT will harness the knowledge of OpenAI’s GPT and tailor it for a specific purpose that the user wants.
It’s somewhat analogous to apps for smartphones. However, the big difference is that you don’t need to know how to code. Instead, you use natural language “chatting” with ChatGPT to create your custom GPT. OpenAI is launching a GPT store, similar to an App Store, where people can buy and sell custom GPTs.
Here are some examples OpenAI has provided of possible personal GPTs:
- Creative Writing Coach
- Tech advisor for troubleshooting
- Game time: explain board games
- Sticker whiz: turning ideas into stickers
- The negotiator: become a better negotiator
CNBC offers this example: “For example, a famous chef may be able to build their own AI chatbot that has knowledge of their personal cooking style and recipes, says Lipson. When fans download it and ask it cooking-related questions, the chatbot would be able to answer in a conversational way, making it feel as if they’re talking to the real-life chef.”
