OpenAI is sparing no expense to mount its defense against the more than dozen copyright lawsuits OpenAI faces in the Multi District Litigation before Judge Stein.
By my count, OpenAI has 78 attorneys now who are appearing in the case.
The legal fees alone must be in at least the tens of millions, I’d expect.
And this number is likely to grow as the case continues to wind its way in litigation.
This amount doesn’t include the tort lawsuits OpenAI faces filed by Elon Musk and also by estates of several ChatGPT users who committed suicide.
